The President's Award for her business partnership with
Klaus Reif of Reif Estate Winery
Filmed a movie released on Netflix
starring Andie Macdowell, Eliza Taylor and Jake Lacy
On a cold dreary day in November 1993, Eva saw the mansion for the first time. It had no heating, plumbing or wiring, no furniture, and all the wood was painted white. Despite all this, it was love at first sight! …March of 1994 the restoration work started, a mammoth project that continues to this day.
This Grand Victorian mansion exemplified all of Eva’s favorite things: History, architecture, gardening and most of all hospitality. Eva’s experience in hospitality dates back to her teens, with only a brief stint away at exploring other career opportunities, she found herself drawn back to the daily adventures of hospitality.
Over the last 22 years she considers herself blessed with wonderful guests/friends who find their way back regularly to the unique atmosphere of the Grand Vic. Here is where friends and guests discover gracious hospitality in a real and original space that is good for your health and soul. This home is a refuge, less buzz more laughter.
Eva's love for her home spills out into the community. She has worked as a volunteer, creating unique and special events for non-profit organizations. These events have raised significant funds for her causes in the Niagara area. Recently Eva was presented with The President's Award for her business partnership with Klaus Reif of Reif Estate Winery a partnership of businesses which honours community, heritage and agriculture.
